What is Nuna Behavioral Healthcare?
Nuna is a mental health private practice focused on creating a healthcare experience where the patients feel important, understood, and safe. We connect patients with therapists and medical professionals for personalized, respectful care.
Is therapy right for me?
Therapy can be beneficial to anyone at any time. At Nuna, we believe in its value so much that all our therapists also have therapists. Therapy is a powerful tool to help you achieve your goals, navigate challenges, and feel your best.
Who is the right therapist for me?
The right therapist is someone who understands your unique needs, whether you’re seeking a safe space to heal or someone to provide structure and guidance as you grow. At Nuna, we prioritize helping you find a therapist who reflects your identity and can support your journey. That’s why we offer consultations—so you can connect, explore their style, and ensure they’re the right fit for you.
How much will it cost?
With insurance, sessions average around $21, depending on your plan. Without insurance, sliding scale sessions start at $60, based on the type of treatment, provider, and your individual circumstances. If you're interested in sliding scale options, please let us know—availability is flexible. For psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP), there may be additional costs due to its specialized nature. Dosing sessions are $145 per hour, but PAP is designed for occasional use, making it a worthwhile investment.
How can I find out exactly how much it will cost?
People who use their insurance save an average of 78% on the cost of therapy. Get a cost estimate, learn more about how to check your coverage, or contact us at (213) 531-0291 or your insurance company for more details (see the "verify your insurance" page to learn more on how to do this).
Can I combine therapy and medication management?
Absolutely. Combining talk therapy with prescription medication often leads to better outcomes for many conditions. Start by meeting with a therapist to identify your goals and needs—they’ll guide you in finding the right combination of treatments tailored to you.
Should I do a 15-minute free consultation?
A 15-minute consultation is the best way to ensure your therapist is the right fit for your needs. While it may feel like an extra step, it sets the foundation for better treatment outcomes by clarifying expectations, exploring treatment options, discussing fees and scheduling, and answering any questions you may have.
What should I expect in the 15-minute free consultation?
Your therapist will introduce themselves, explain the process, and ask about your needs and goals. This is your chance to share expectations, ask questions, and ensure the fit feels right. Remember, this is a two-way conversation—you’re interviewing them too. If it’s not the right match, there are no hard feelings.
